Questions

How do I add hours and minutes?

Type each time on its own line, as 7:30, 7h 30m or 7.5, and the total appears below. Minutes carry over into hours: 0:45 and 0:30 make 1:15.

How do I convert minutes to decimal hours?

Divide the minutes by 60: 15 minutes is 0.25 hours, 30 minutes is 0.5 and 45 minutes is 0.75, so 7:45 is 7.75 hours. The calculator shows the total in decimal hours under the hours and minutes.

How do I work out the hours between two times?

Type the start and the end on one line, like 9:00-17:30 or 10pm-6am. An end earlier than the start counts into the next day. Without am or pm, a range like 9-5 is read as 9:00 to 17:00.

How do I take off a break?

Tap the plus sign at the start of a line to make it a minus, and that line comes off the total: 9:00-17:30 and minus 30m make 8:00.

Can the total go over 24 hours?

Yes. The total is a length of time, not a time of day, so a week of shifts adds up to 40:00 rather than starting again at midnight.
