Bergmal – Privacy Policy

Effective Date: 13 October 2026

Who we are

Bergmal is a video delay camera app for iOS and Android, operated by Norse Ventures LLC (“we”, “our”, “us”), a Delaware limited liability company based in Charleston, South Carolina, USA. This policy explains how information is handled when you use Bergmal.

The camera picture stays on your device

Bergmal uses your device’s camera to show you the picture a few seconds late. The picture is held in your device’s memory for as long as the delay needs and is then thrown away. It is not written to storage, and it is never sent to us or to anyone else.

When you leave Bergmal, the camera stops and the picture held in memory is emptied.

Bergmal does not use the microphone. It captures no sound.

Clips you save

Nothing is recorded unless you save a clip. With Bergmal Pro, the save button writes the seconds you just watched as a video clip without sound to your photo library: Photos on iOS, your gallery on Android.

On iOS, Bergmal asks for permission to add to Photos the first time you save a clip. That permission only lets Bergmal add clips; it cannot see or read your library. On Android, the clip is saved through the system’s media library, and Bergmal asks for no storage permission.

A saved clip is yours. It is kept by Photos or your gallery, and by iCloud Photos, Google Photos, or any other backup you have turned on there. We never receive it.

No account, no ads, no tracking

Bergmal does not require an account, and contains no advertising and no tracking. It has no backend of our own, and the only usage information we collect ourselves is the anonymous statistics described below.

Bergmal stores these on your device only: your settings (which camera, the mirror switches, the delays and speeds you chose, and whether the picture is split) and whether Bergmal Pro is unlocked. If you back up your phone or tablet with iCloud or your Google account, that backup may include them. The backup is kept by Apple or Google under your own account, and we cannot see it.

Anonymous usage statistics

Bergmal sends a few anonymous events to PostHog, our analytics provider, so we can see whether people use the app. The events are: the app was opened, the camera started and the delay began, the Bergmal Pro offer was shown and which locked control opened it, how a purchase or a restore ended, and the app asked the App Store or Google Play to show its rating dialog. Each event carries the app and system version, whether the app came from the store or a test build, whether Bergmal Pro is unlocked, and a random identifier created on your device.

The events never include the picture or anything about what the camera sees, your clips, the delays you chose or how long you used the app, your name, email, Apple or Google account, or advertising identifier. PostHog discards IP addresses for Bergmal and does not build a profile of you. The data is not used for advertising or shared with data brokers, and is kept for up to one year. Uninstalling Bergmal removes the random identifier.

Showing the picture on a TV

With AirPlay, a cable, or another second display, your device’s own system sends the picture to the screen. Nothing is sent to us.

Bergmal Pro purchases

Bergmal Pro is a one-time in-app purchase. Apple or Google processes the payment, and RevenueCat helps Bergmal load the price, complete the purchase, and restore it later, and shows us sales figures such as how many purchases were made. To do this, RevenueCat receives your purchase history and an anonymous app identifier that is not linked to your name or email. We never receive your payment-card number.

The list of our other apps

Bergmal’s settings show a short list of our other apps. To keep it current, Bergmal downloads the public list and its icons from norseventures.co. This is a plain web request that carries no identifier; as with any web request, our web host sees the IP address it comes from.

Tapping an app in the list opens its App Store or Google Play page. The link carries a campaign tag that names Bergmal, so Apple and Google can tell us how many visits and installs came from Bergmal. The tag is the same for everyone and does not identify you.

Email support

If you contact us, we receive your email address and whatever information you choose to include so we can respond.

Sharing and sale of information

We do not sell your personal information. Information is shared only with the service providers needed for purchases and anonymous usage statistics, when you direct us to share it, or when required by law.

Retention and your choices

The camera picture is kept only in memory and only for as long as the delay needs. Bergmal’s settings remain on your device until you change them or uninstall the app. Purchase records are retained by Apple or Google and by RevenueCat under their own policies. Support emails are kept only as long as reasonably needed to answer your request and meet legal obligations.

You can take away Bergmal’s access to the camera or to adding to Photos in your device’s settings at any time; Bergmal cannot show a picture without the camera. You may also contact us to request access to or deletion of personal information we hold about you.

Delete your Bergmal data

We hold no copy of your picture, your clips, or your settings. The picture in memory is gone as soon as you leave Bergmal. Uninstalling Bergmal deletes its settings. On Android you can also reset them without uninstalling: open your device’s Settings, find Bergmal under Apps, and clear its storage. If your own iCloud or Google backup holds a copy of the settings, you can delete that backup in your Apple or Google account settings.

Clips you saved are in your photo library, not in Bergmal, and uninstalling Bergmal does not remove them. Delete them in Photos or your gallery.

To delete the purchase data RevenueCat holds for Bergmal (your purchase history and anonymous app identifier), email support@norseventures.co with the subject “Delete my Bergmal data” and, if you can, the Google Play order number or App Store receipt email for your Bergmal Pro purchase. We delete the RevenueCat record within 30 days and confirm by email. Apple and Google keep their own purchase records under their policies, and Bergmal Pro can still be restored from them later.

The anonymous usage statistics are not tied to a person, so we cannot find yours to delete; uninstalling Bergmal removes the random identifier they carry.

Changes

We may update this policy as Bergmal changes. The effective date above shows when this version took effect.
